LEADERSHIP

Mike and Pam Barnes have been married for 45 years and have three adult sons, Chris, Danny, and Jonny, and four grandchildren, Rory, Millie, Moses, and Timothy. They have been serving at Community Church since January of 2014. Mike served as an Associate Pastor at the Grove Community Church in Riverside, CA for 15 years. Mike has a BA in Christian Studies from California Baptist University, as well as a BS in Industrial Engineering Technology, from Southern Illinois University. Mike is an ordained minister in The Christian and Missionary Alliance and has authored two books: “First Steps, as a follower of Christ”, and “Which Way is the Ocean, Sharing Jesus with a skeptical culture”. Mike enjoys kayaking, fishing, guitars, hiking, and exploring new places with his wife Pam.

Hi, I’m Donna McClintock. I am the Assistant to the Pastor and all-around “beck-and-call-girl” for the church. I have been blessed with three beautiful children: Carlye, Cory, and Michael; and they have in turn blessed me with six beautiful grandbabies: Ellie, Conor, Brady, Katelyn, Jackson, & Emery. My children and I moved here from Texas in 1989 and began attending Community Church shortly thereafter. I have served and worked at the church since July of 1991.  This church is my family and I have been blessed by them every single day in so many ways and am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to serve God and his body in this manner in my life. I enjoy singing and leading worship, which I do here at the church. I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren.   I enjoy reading, especially cookbooks, and trying new recipes. I recently tried my hand at gardening (the jury is still out on that one) and I love spending time with my beautiful family and friends. 

Hi, my name is Amanda Spurlock, and I am a mother of four sweet beautiful loving children; three girls, Faith, Grace, and Hope, and a boy, Waylon. I have an amazing supportive loving husband, Nick, and he is the glue to our family. I am beyond blessed and thankful to be a part of the Community Church Big Bear family as the Children’s Director. I love working with kids and filling their hearts with love and knowledge of our love for Jesus. This verse hits home with me: “For I know the plans I have for you declares the LORD, plans to prosper you not and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11. I feel like He knew exactly where I needed to be and that was with the children’s ministry.

I was born in Kansas City Missouri in 1948 and was raised in Wichita, Kansas.  I served as a Sgt. Marine Airwing from 1967-1971 in the Vietnam Era.  I was stationed in Santa Ana, Japan, and El Toro.  I spent 20+ years in Aerospace Computer Mechanical Design drafting.  I have lived in Big Bear since 2007.  I worked for the Big Bear Airport for 7 years and left there to begin working here.  I started attending Community Church in 2014.  I married my wife, Deborah, in 2012.  I volunteer with Meals on Wheels and drive the Fire Department water tender truck. My hobbies include hiking and dancing.
