VBS 2023

VBS is a children's ministry event that will take place June 19-23, 2023 at Community Church Big Bear. We will be accepting students from 1st grade through 5th grade. If you have a kindergartener that is promoting into the 1st grade we will be happy to enroll him/her. Also, if you have a 5th grader that is going into middle school but would still like to attend VBS we would love to enroll him/her. Drop off time is 8:30am and pickup is 1:00pm each day.

The cost is $75 per student. We are offering a discounted rate of $55 for siblings. Please call Amanda Spurlock (714) 264-3447 or the church office (909) 866-7523 for more info. WAIVER - I have read and now accept the Community Church Big Bear Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability. As a condition of the above-named Participant (“Participant”) being allowed to participate in VBS 2023 (“Events”) with Community Church Big Bear (Community Church), I voluntarily and absolutely release and discharge Community Church, and its officers, leaders, agents, volunteers and employees, from any losses damages, actions or causes of action resulting from participation in all activities, including but not limited to activity like kickball, water games, running, jumping, climbing, etc.; whether or not injuries or damages are caused by negligence (active or passive). I will indemnify and hold harmless Community Church and its officers, leaders, agents, volunteers and employees (“Indemnitees”) from any and all claims or causes of action by any person or entity and under no circumstances will present any claims against Inemnitees for personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death. I understand the Events involve serious risks and I assume all risks related to Participant’s involvement, including but not limited to risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable at this time. I understand the events may involve strenuous physical and hazardous activity, which may result in serious and/or permanent physical injury or death. These risks include but are not limited to slipping on wet surfaces, cuts, broken bones, and potential for more serious injury. I understand physical activity creates a risk to bones, joints, ligaments, and muscles as well as the cardiovascular system. I understand the Community Church does not make any warranties relating to safety or condition of any facility, field, or walkway, and/or risks associated with transportation to and from Events, and I am solely responsible for participants safety. I consent to receive, and authorise Community Church event staff and other participants to use their discretion to administer medical care and/or treatment. I hereby authorize medical services to be rendered. I understand there are risks associated with any medical procedure and I agree to assume the risks. I understand I am responsible for all medical costs for treating an injury and for any emergency transportation. I certify Participant is in good health and condition, and is able to safely participate in the Events. I understand an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present and that such risks are significant despite any precautions which may be taken. I understand COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. I consent for Participant to participate in the Events and I voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, including but not limited to exposure from contagious participants and/or leaders, and exposure caused by any individual's failure to follow any infection safety practice. My signature below certifies my approval for Participants image and voice to be electronically recorded and photographed by Community Church for use in any of Community Church's publications, including on the internet, without compensation therefor. I understand the terms and legal consequences of signing this Agreement. This Agreement extends to claims and facts unknown and unsuspected to exist at the time of executing this Agreement. All rights under Section 1542 of the California Civil Code are hereby expressly waived with respect to any of the claims, injuries, or damages described in this Agreement.Section 1542 of the California Civil Code reads: A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS WHICH THE CREDITOR DOES NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT OT EXIST IN HIS FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE, WHICH IF KNOWN BY HIM MUST HAVE MATERIALLY AFFECTED HIS SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR. I acknowledge the foregoing waiver and release is an essential and material term, without which Community Church would not let Participant take part in the Events. I intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law. IF PARTICIPANT IS UNDER THE AGE OF 18, I AM SIGNING AS AN AUTHORIZED PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN AND NO OTHER PARENTAL CONSENT IS REQUIRED BY LAW.
